Catching up - Been Away

I know I've been away from posting, but that doesn't mean that I haven't been stitching.

I've been stitching a gift, a couple pieces for myself and some charity pieces.

I stitch this piece for our retiring minister that when he left during the summer. He was a great asset to our parrish and was very helpful when my Dad died earlier this year. (Ink Circle freebie Celtic Knot June 2007)

I stitch this celtic knot for myself from the 2008 Cross Stitch Calendar

At my nephews school they have an event every year call Breakfast and a Book where the kids wear pjs to school for the day and the read a book in the classroom. Two years ago we stitch bookmarks for the youngest, now we've skipped a year so here we are stitching for it again. 20 for the 3rd grade and 32 for the 4th grade, thank goodness it was moved to February - it will give us enough time to stitch for both of their classes. Scrapping Mosiac Update 5/10/10

I haven't worked on this project in a while, so thought I would pull it out since I've finished a few kits lately and want to add stitches. I also figure this is a good way to get my 100 stitches challenge done.

I'm taking all the scraps of threads left and am using them to made a modern mosiac with all different colors.

Update - Sad News

I'm sorry I haven't been around lately - my dad went into the hospital last Thursday and then came home on Tuesday this week with Hospice. He died in the early hours on Friday.

He was ready and just wanted to get home to be with family.

Believe I 'll off for a little bit longer - will make sure that prize is awarded for the Magic Carpet Ride Contest.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to being able to read, tomorrow my plans include with rain it will be an inside day – wash clothes, clean bathroom and Sunday, I want to plant my tomatoes in my topsy turvy!

5. For too long I've been letting things go, I need to take the bull by the horn and get some things done.

6. I am not obsessed with genealogy on the computer (Ancestry.com); I am not!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to not working, tomorrow my plans include watching my nephew play soccer and sawing up the huge tree branch in the backyard and Sunday, I want to be able to do some laundry(yuck)!

10 Signs that You’re Getting Older

1. Boy that fine print is getting finer (oh yeah and the newspaper and magazine print is finer also)
2. You know it’s bad when the hairdresser says – you have to get highlights more often
3. I have a hard time keeping up with my nephews (6 & 7)
4. The “oldies” are my kind of music
5. The clothes I wore are now back in style (and the fashions weren’t stylish then)
6. The body just doesn’t work like it used to
7. The remakes of “old” tv shows – just doesn’t work the next time (90210)
8. Becoming more set in my ways
9. My nephews look at me when I say – I did that when I was your age or a little older – they think it’s the first time through
10. Teen magazine doesn’t do it for me – I like Sunset, Time and BH&G
